Configuring MS Outlook for Exchange

If you have not used MS Outlook desktop version with any email accounts before, it will open at step 5 of the instructions below. Otherwise, to configure MS Outlook (recent versions) for use with Exchange:

  1. Ensure Outlook is not running
  2. Go to Control Panel > User Accounts > Mail (32 bits)
  3. Click on Email Accounts
  4. Click New
  5. Ensure Email Account is selected (the first option)
  6. Enter your display name (e.g. John Doe)
  7. Enter your email address (e.g. john.doe@companyname.com)
  8. Enter your password twice
  9. Click Next
  10. Outlook will autodiscover your settings and configure the account
  11. Open Outlook

Note that if you already have MS Outlook configured for another account, you either have to a) delete that account or b) create a new email profile.
